Becoming an “AT” Maker McGyver – Rapid AT Problem Solving

Join ATECH for a special workshop with Dr. Therese Willkomm, the original “AT” Maker McGyver! Therese is an internationally known presenter and we are thrilled to have her sharing her expertise through ATECH.

Workshop Description: Discover over 50 different “AT” solutions that can be made using 10 different specialty tapes. Learn what tools and materials that you should put into your McGyver Kit to quickly solve challenges, create AT devices, and make adaptations/modifications to Assistive Technology Devices. Participants will also make a Multi-Use Pocket Eileen, and a Multi-Use Spring Clip.

Session Date and Time: Monday, April 18, 2022  from 2PM – 4 PM EST

Session Cost: $40 for members; $50 for nonmembers (includes cost of session materials that will be provided to you ahead of session)

About the Presenter:
Dr. Therese Willkomm, Ph.D., is the Director of New Hampshire’s State Assistive Technology Program with the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire (UNH)  Dr. Willkomm is a clinical associate professor emeritus in the Department of Occupational Therapy.  She developed, coordinated, and taught the assistive technology courses for the Graduate Certificate Program in Assistive Technology for 23 years. She is known nationally and internationally for her innovative strategies for creating solutions in minutes.  She has designed and fabricated over two thousand solutions for individuals with disabilities. She has presented her work in 42 states, ten foreign countries, and three U.S. Territories and has authored over 22 publications including her recent book Assistive Technology Solutions in Minutes Book 3: – “Make Stuff and Love People”.
